Neuro-Optometric Rehabilitation

Neuro-Optometric Rehabilitation is a highly specialized treatment program for patients experiencing visual dysfunction following:

  • Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI)
  • Concussion or mild traumatic brain injury (mTBI)
  • Stroke
  • Brain surgery
  • Neuro-degenerative conditions such as Multiple Sclerosis or Parkinson’s disease

Many patients experience lingering visual problems after neurological injury that standard eye exams do not address. These issues may include:

  • Binocular vision dysfunction
  • Oculomotor dysfunction (difficulty tracking or scanning)
  • Convergence and accommodation disorders
  • Visual-spatial disorientation
  • Light sensitivity
  • Motion sensitivity
  • Cognitive-visual processing difficulties

Neuro-Optometric Rehabilitation applies the concept of neuroplasticity. Neuroplasticity is the ability of the brain to rewire and form new neural connections.
